Who are we?
At Studio Pauza we work closely with our clients, delivering a range of services, from strategy to design and facilitation. With background in city planning and public space design, we focus on creating quality urban spaces which are more than means of getting from A to B. Instead we bring value to the cityscape, allowing for a place to pause, relax, be with friends and family, play, do sports, for nature to thrive and for people to come closer to nature.
However, present day’s climatic challenges, together with rapid urbanisation also call for a new, innovative approach to city planning and public space design. It’s no longer enough to focus solely on aesthetics and efficiency. We need to think of climatic adaptation, mental and physical health of the users, space for all species to thrive, sustainability, protection, resilience and flexibility.
This is why at Studio Pauza we take a two fold approach to the projects, implementing new sustainable solutions, while keeping in mind the users and their needs. Can a pocket park become a place where we can both play, rest and pause, while lowering the temperature in the hot summer and providing drainage and biodiversity corridors? We think yes!
Agnieszka Filipowicz
I’m an architect and an urbanist and recently the founder of Studio Pauza. Until now, I have worked in various contexts and scales addressing social, economic and environmental challenges in projects ranging from urban planning to public space design, as well as research. I have worked and gained experience at Gehl People, Fundament Design, NLE, BIG, Henning Larsen Architects and House 4 House. During my professional practice, I have had the opportunity to develop as a designer, manager, a valued team member and an open minded collaborator, while my academic background from KADK, Battlett and WUT has provided me with critical thinking skills and a research based approach to projects. You can find my CV here.
I’m looking forward to working together!
